Beethoven Symphony No. 3 Part 1 Continuing with our series of programs dedicated to Beethoven's Nine Symphonies. Today, Anna Ouspenskaya and Chris Ka Long Au explore Symphony No. 3. After watching part of the film, stay tuned for an engaging discussion. Beethoven’s Third Symphony, Eroica, marks a decisive break from Classical convention. Monumental in scale and ambition, it expands sonata form, intensifies harmonic tension, and treats thematic material with unprecedented developmental weight. The symphony is driven by bold rhythmic motives, abrupt contrasts, and a pervasive sense of struggle and transformation. Originally conceived in a heroic vein, Eroica presents not triumph alone but conflict, loss, and hard-won resolution, establishing a new model for the symphony as a dramatic and philosophical statement. More about Architects of Music: https://www.youtube.com/@thearchitectsofmusic BEETHOVEN’S UNIVERSE In this ongoing series, Lawrence Rapchak examines each movement of Beethoven’s symphonies, revealing their inner structures and illuminating the architecture of each complete work. No other program about Beethoven’s symphonies has been created in this fashion, and it is our hope to present all nine of these masterpieces in the coming months. To accompany the audio in each episode, the Virtual Concert Halls team has created a visually engaging experience. The visuals include composer portraits, full scores and piano reductions with highlighted passages, performance photos, landscapes to support the narrative, and curated images of Beethoven himself. Beethoven Symphony No. 8 Part 9 Continuing with our series of programs dedicated to Beethoven's Nine Symphonies. Today, Anna Ouspenskaya and Chris Ka Long Au explore Symphony No. 8. After watching part of the film, stay tuned for an engaging discussion. Beethoven’s Eighth is compact, direct, and structurally tight. It uses clear motivic cells, abrupt dynamic shifts, and concise thematic development. The work often reads as a study in controlled wit and mechanical precision. Beethoven fondly referred to it as "my little Symphony in F", distinguishing it from his Sixth Symphony, a longer work also in F. The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places loud, with many accented notes. Various passages in the symphony are heard by some listeners to be musical jokes. We teach our students wide variety of repertory, both solo and in chamber music collaboration; stage presence and ability to speak publicly; artistic etiquette; discipline; thoughtful and intelligent approach to practicing; supporting subjects such as music theory and history. Our students participate in numerous performances in varied settings: recitals, festivals, competitions, presentations, skill tests, TV shows, professional recording sessions. They perform on stages as contrasting as retirement communities and Carnegie Hall or Kennedy Center. We hope to send our students off with true life-long love for musical arts and strong skills which will allow them to continue to enjoy making music and bringing joy to themselves and others. It features Ms. Weng Friedman and soprano Indira Mahajan performing music by composers Margaret Bonds, Beata Moon, Florence B. Price, and Chinary Ung. By listening to each track on Heritage and Harmony: Silver Linings, they can enjoy the glorious music of incredible but under-represented BIPOC composers and musicians while also making a small but valuable contribution to the AAPI community.” For more information, contact: Donna Weng Friedman donnawengfriedman@gmail.com Смотреть Смотреть 53:21 Sadie Goodman, flute - Sound Espressivo Laureates' Recital Program: 2:57 Jules Mouquet - La Flûte de Pan (I.
