Marcela Gonyea

Marcela has studied classical piano since the age of five. Her eleven years of training have provided her with a strong foundation in both musical technique and performance. Throughout the years, she has placed and qualified in numerous piano competitions, receiving First Prize, Second Prize, and Honorable Mentions through the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA).

In high school, Marcela joined the orchestra as a freshman and was placed as a piano soloist in the Chamber Orchestra—the most advanced ensemble at her school. Her most notable achievement to date is earning the Sound Espressivo Carnegie Hall Performer Award, through which she performed Sergey Zubkovsky’s Piano Concerto.
