Open Concerto auditions for our Laureate Gala at Carnegie Weill Hall

presented in partnership with Progressive Musicians

Audition is open to musicians of all ages who would like to perform

a Concerto with orchestra at Carnegie Hall

Musicians of all ages may apply

Selected artists will be awarded an appearance opportunity to perform solo with

The New York Chamber Players conducted by Giacomo Franci

Open to following instruments and voice:

Piano

Bowed string instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello , Double Bass

Winds: Flute, Oboe/Corno Inglese, Clarinet, Bassoon/Contrabassoon

Brass: French horn, Trumpet

Guitar

Voice: Soprano, Mezzo Soprano, Contralto,

Tenor, Countertenor, Baritone, Bass/Baritone, Bass

DATES & DEADLINES

September 25th - All Applications, fees and first tier optional videos are due. 

September 30th - October 2nd - First tier auditions

October 15th @ 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time - All second tier audition videos due

October 21nd - Second tier broadcast online. Results announced by October 23

October 29th - Recital performance confirmation deadline

November 21st @ 8:00pm EST - Recital at Carnegie Weill Hall, LIVE in person

FEES*

$250 Application Fee

  • NOTE: Musicians wishing to apply to the Concerto auditions may also apply for either the Soloist or Ensemble auditions for free ($100 Application Fee is waved at checkout, by checking the "SOLO" box on Concerto Application Form). 

*Merit scholarships are available on a need basis. To be considered for a merit scholarship, contact us BEFORE you apply at director@progressivemusicians.com.

$1,050 Performance Fee for all soloists includes a separate rehearsal and performance with The New York Chamber Players, and…

  • A Carnegie Hall Archival DIGITAL VIDEO of your performance (see Regulations for acceptable uses as per Carnegie Hall rules)

  • A short sound check on stage prior to the recital

  • Performance photos

  • A digital program booklet

  • Certificate

  • Medal

  • up to 4 complimentary tickets per performer, $240 value, including the soloist (all soloists must have a ticket as per Carnegie Hall rules)

RESULTS

Results will be announced in a live online broadcast, October 23rd.

All musicians and their instructors will receive a certificate of merit and participation.

Participating musicians may opt to audition for colOrchestra in December. Benefits of electing this option include…

  • Re-using your Laureate audition video

  • Changing your concerto piece or movement

  • Auditioning with an entire concerto or large vocal work

  • Perform with a live orchestra in front of a live audience, and a world wide live streamed broadcast
